Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez stated today during a speech in Congress that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to inflict the same destruction on Lebanon as in Gaza, The Independent reports.

Sanchez, who addressed the lower house of parliament to clarify his government's position on the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran, also noted that Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, follows a harder line than his predecessor.

"Mojtaba Khamenei is just as much a dictator and an even more bloodthirsty tyrant than his father," Sanchez said.
