Russia and China were invited to participate in the Syria’s Friends conference held in Tunisia on Feb. 24, said Tunisian FM Rafik Abdessalem.

He assured no one has intention to suspend the states from settlement of the Syrian problems. Tunisian FM said that the conference aims “to strengthen pressure on Syria’s incumbent authorities.”

The Minister pointed out Tunisia is against military intervention in Syria and will never serve a starting field for military intervention against another Arab state, RIA Novosti reports quoting the Arab media.

Earlier the spokesperson for the United States Department of State Victoria Nuland ruled out Russia and China from the list of Syria’s Friends as they did not defend adoption of the UN General Assembly resolution on Syria.
