U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that mediator countries are “relaying signals and progress has been made” in talks with Iran, Al Jazeera reported.

“More and more energy is flowing through the straits — not as much as it should, but some is getting through,” he told reporters.

According to the U.S. Secretary of State, certain progress has been achieved in the exchange of messages. “But this is a continuous and dynamic process, and we are not going to negotiate or talk about it in the media,” Rubio noted.

He added that the Strait of Hormuz “could be reopened tomorrow if Iran stops threatening global shipping.”

“All those countries that care about international law must do something about this,” the U.S. Secretary of State added.
