Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan went on Facebook live stream and addressed the Armenian opposition’s claims and perceptions of peace.

“The three-headed party of war claims that there has been peace before, too. This claim is a cynical lie, because in previous years we have had many casualties and more number of injured. There has been no peace, there has been a postponement of the war, and we have paid the price for it with the independence, statehood, economic development, and prosperity of Armenia.

That ‘means of payment’ was exhausted in 2016 already, when the four-day war took place and a completely different logic was put on the table, which has blown all perceptions of the Karabakh conflict to the wind.

For the first time in the history of our independence, we have peace. We have never had peace in the previous period, and this fact is proven by the fact that 2025 is the first calendar year that we have not had casualties as a result of the exchange of fire with Azerbaijan.

In practice, we have not had casualties or injuries since March 2024,” the prime minister of Armenia noted.

Also, Pashinyan recalled that the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan is initialed, but in reality, the established peace between the two countries has a de jure confirmation, and it is the approval of the regulations on joint activities ratified by the border delimitation commissions of Armenia and Azerbaijan and its ratification, which gave the document legal force.
