Moscow is ready to work together with Yerevan in countering “hybrid threats” if the Armenian side shows the appropriate interest. Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated this at a press briefing Wednesday, as she commented on Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan’s recent statement that Yerevan does not rule out the possibility of using Russian experience in this regard.

According to Zakharova, Russia has broad opportunities, but such cooperation presupposes mutual interest of the parties. In the event of a corresponding request, Moscow is ready to respond, including in information protection, the fight against cybercrime, and collaboration on international platforms.

The MFA spokeswoman emphasized that Russia can not only share expert assessments, but also establish practical cooperation in a number of domains. She noted that there is a specialized unit within the Russian MFA, as well as other departments that deal with this domain.
