U.S. President Donald Trump said he would not authorize artificial intelligence (AI) to make decisions on conducting strikes against live targets.
“I won’t allow that,” he said in an interview with Time magazine in response to a related question. “I respect AI, but such decisions are made by the president, provided he is competent.”
In March, the head of U.S. Special Operations Command, Frank Bradley, stated that the U.S. military does not allow AI to independently make decisions about strikes on live targets.
