A U.S. fighter jet has been shot down over Iran, and a search-and-rescue operation is currently underway to locate the pilot, a U.S. official told Reuters.
This is the first known such incident since the start of the U.S. war with Iran on February 28.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, did not provide further details.
