The Iranian armed forces are threatening to carry out "much more powerful and larger-scale" strikes on US targets in the Middle East if attacks on the Islamic Republic's civilian infrastructure continue, warned Ebrahim Zolfaghari, a spokesperson for Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian armed forces.

"We [i.e. Iran] have stated from the very beginning that any encroachment on [Iranian] civilian targets will be met with a strong response aimed at the enemy's interests. In the event of repeated attacks on [Iranian] civilian targets, the next phases of our offensive and retaliatory actions will be carried out in a much more powerful and larger-scale manner. And if such a policy continues, the enemy's damages and losses will increase manifold," Zolfaghari said on Iranian state television.

US President Donald Trump on Sunday threatened to strike Iran's energy and civilian infrastructure if the Strait of Hormuz was not reopened by Monday.
