A private meeting between Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev took place in Tbilisi on Monday.

The meeting emphasized the role of the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan in ensuring stability and security in the South Caucasus.

Also, the two presidents expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia within the framework of international organizations, and exchanged views on the prospects for relations and some other matters of mutual interest.
