Bidzina Ivanishvili, founder of Georgia’s ruling Georgian Dream party, received Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at a business center, the party’s press service said, as reported by Georgia’s First Channel.

Ivanishvili noted that relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan are at their highest level.

He emphasized the importance of deep, comprehensive economic ties between the two countries and the potential to maximize the use of the transit corridor.

The meeting also focused on close cooperation in the energy sector and joint transport and energy projects implemented by Georgia and Azerbaijan. In particular, the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway was highlighted as playing a key role in ensuring regional connectivity.

Aliyev also stressed bilateral projects, the importance of the energy corridor, and Georgia’s active role in the export of Azerbaijani natural resources.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze also attended the meeting.
