Thousands of missiles and shells fired from Iran and Lebanon during the 40-day war have caused significant damage in Israel, Ynet reports.

The resultant death toll in Israel has reached 42. Accordingly, 22 people were killed as a result of direct Iranian strikes, 12 soldiers were killed in combat, one civilian died from shots fired from own troops, and 7 people died as a result of war-related accidents or medical incidents.

A total of 7,451 people were taken to Israeli hospitals since the start of the war, the health ministry reported, according to The Times of Israel.

The wounded Israelis include both soldiers and civilians.
