A major and tragic road accident occurred Friday in Armenia’s Shirak Province, shamshyan.com reports.

At around noon, the Police Patrol Service received information that a car accident had occurred on the Armavir-Gyumri motorway and there were affected.

It was found out on the spot that a BMW and an Opel had collided, and as a result, the BMW had gone off road and ended up in a field.

Five people died as a result of the accident, and three others were taken to hospital.

A criminal case has been opened in the investigative department.
