A US blockade of Iranian ports could be much more disastrous for the world economy than for Iran itself, Al Jazeera analyst James Bays believes.

According to him, Iran, which has been under sanctions since 1979, has already achieved significant economic stability, while the global economy could suffer much faster and more profoundly.

Moreover, according to Al Jazeera, during the recent military operations of the US and Israel against Iran, the latter earned twice as much as before the war—and due to a sharp increase in oil prices and fees charged to ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has called this blockade illegal and promised to establish a permanent mechanism for overseeing the strait after the end of the war.
