The Iranian authorities plan to develop a special system for the Strait of Hormuz, which has geopolitical significance, Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani told RIA Novosti.

The Strait of Hormuz is a special property of Iran. Like any property that is used as a lever for interaction with various countries, it is necessary to develop a special system for it, Mohajerani said.

According to her, Iran will use all necessary means to ensure that its national interests regarding sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz are protected.
