The Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant’s operation life extension program has continued throughout 2025. The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Davit Khudatyan, stated this at Thursday’s session of the National Assembly, presenting the 2025 report on the progress and results of the implementation of the Armenian government's 2021-2026 program.

"Currently, measures are being implemented under the operation life extension program to keep the nuclear power plant in the energy system [of Armenia] for the next ten years as well," added Khudatyan.

He noted that the construction on the Armenia-Iran 400-kilovolt power transmission line and infrastructure continued last year, and about 85 percent of the work has already been completed.
