Tehran will not accept a “temporary ceasefire” agreement with the US, believing that it will lead to the resumption of hostilities in the future, Deputy Iranian Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh said.

According to him, such ceasefires create a “vicious circle,” exhaust diplomatic resources and, ultimately, lead to war. Khatibzadeh noted that contacts through mediators are aimed at finding a long-term solution to the conflict.

Also, he accused the US and Israel of starting the war against Iran, assuring that their actions harm not only Iran, but also the global economy. The Iranian deputy foreign minister called it an “unprovoked war” for which Washington must answer.
