The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia had reported that the Anti-Corruption Court's ruling of January 23 was made in favor of the lawsuit by the Department for the Protection of State Interests of the Prosecutor General's Office.

Accordingly, 297 million 980 thousand drams will be confiscated in favor of Armenia, the Prosecutor General's Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The aforesaid department had filed a lawsuit with the Anti-Corruption Court demanding to invalidate the sale and purchase agreement for a 1.4514-hectare land plot in Yerevan, signed on December 17, 2005, between the then defense minister of Armenia, former President Serzh Sargsyan and an individual.

The court, ruling in favor of this lawsuit, declared the aforesaid sale and purchase agreement invalid, and as a result, ruled to recover the value of the aforementioned land plot from the individual in favor of Armenia—and in the amount of 297 million 980 thousand drams.

The ruling has entered into legal force, and a writ of execution has been issued.
