Disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz are not distant events, they are stark realities with direct implications for India’s security and economic stability, the country's defense minister Rajnath Singh said.

"For a developing country like India, which relies on the West Asian region for a significant share of its energy requirements, disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz are not distant events, they are stark realities with direct implications for our security and economic stability," the Indian defense minister said.

Singh noted that India was taking a coordinated approach to mitigating the consequences of the crisis in West Asia.

He warned that the ongoing conflict in West Asia, involving the US, Israel, and Iran, has transcended regional boundaries, creating serious implications for global energy, food security, and economic stability

"By bringing together key ministries, we ensure that energy security, commodity availability, and industrial stability remain uncompromised, reflecting India’s ability to respond to global crises with calm and foresight," the Indian defense minister told German parliamentarians during his three-day official visit to Berlin.
