The US naval blockade violates the ceasefire, Iran's permanent representative to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani, said, SNN reports.

"They [i.e. the US] should lift the blockade. If it is lifted, I think the next round of negotiations will take place in Islamabad. If they want to sit at the negotiating table, we [i.e. Iran] are ready. But if they choose the path of war, Iran is ready for that, too," the Iranian diplomat noted.

Iravani added that the current ceasefire should extend to the entire region, including Lebanon.
