On May 4-5, in addition to the European Political Community summit, Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, will host a separate Armenia-EU Summit, which will be co-chaired by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and by European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, on the EU side. Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan stated this in an interview with Public Television.

He emphasized that this is the first Armenia-EU Summit, and it is in this format that the bilateral agenda will be discussed.

According to the Armenian deputy FM, visa liberalization and EU assistance to Armenia will be discussed at this summit. “In addition, taking into account the developments in the region over the past year, we will have significant discussions on communication topics; we will discuss how we can promote investments in Armenia. Together with the EU, we will come up with a new initiative that will enable to open a new window in investment policy. The European Union will support the private sector and stimulate private sector investments in Armenia through various instruments,” Kostanyan added.

He informed that after the European Political Community and the Armenia-EU summits, the annual Yerevan Dialogue diplomatic forum will be held in Yerevan, where a number of Europeans, including high-ranking officials, will remain to participate in this forum.

In addition, French President Emmanuel Macron will pay a state visit to Armenia, during which a strategic partnership document will be signed.
