Russia has received an invitation to the G20 summit at a high level, but no final decision has been made yet, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandr Pankin announced.

"There is an invitation to attend at the highest level, but let's see what happens closer to the deadline. God knows what will happen before then," he said.

The next G20 summit is scheduled for December in Miami, USA. Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that the matter of President Vladimir Putin's participation in this event in the US was not currently being discussed.

The last time Putin himself attended a G20 summit was in 2019 in Japan, where he met with US President Donald Trump.

The G20 is an informal forum of the world's largest economies, bringing together 19 countries, as well as the European and African Unions, and discussing global economy and financial policy.
