Two soldiers of the Israeli army (IDF), serving in the Air Force, have been arrested for security violations carried out on behalf of agents of Iranian intelligence, according to a statement by Israeli police.

The report says that as part of a joint operation by the Central District Police, the Shin Bet, the Military Police Criminal Investigation Division, and the IDF Information Security Department, two IDF soldiers serving as technicians in the Air Force were arrested in March 2026 on suspicion of security offenses related to contacts with Iranian intelligence agents and carrying out security-related tasks under their direction.

During interrogation, they stated that contact with their Iranian handlers was cut off after they refused to carry out tasks related to ammunition.

However, even after contact was terminated by the handlers, they continued attempting to re-establish it in order to obtain financial gain.

This morning, charges were filed against both individuals. One soldier was charged with aiding the enemy during wartime, transferring information to the enemy, facilitating contact with a foreign agent, and other offenses.

The second soldier was charged with contact with a foreign agent, transferring information to the enemy, and other offenses.

According to the indictment, over several months, the two soldiers maintained contact with Iranian intelligence agents and, under their instructions, carried out various tasks in exchange for money. One of the soldiers even passed on military training materials related to air force systems, as well as documentation about facilities and areas on an airbase, to a foreign Iranian agent.
