France commemorates the anniversary of the 1915 Armenian Genocide and bows to the memory of the victims. French President Emmanuel Macron wrote this on his X page.

"This April 24, France commemorates the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide of 1915 and bows to the memory of the victims. This is an occasion to remember, to pass on, and to highlight the unbreakable bond that unites France to Armenia, and the French people to the Armenians," the French President wrote.

On January 29, 2001, France became the first major European country to give the recognition of the genocide the force of law, and in 2019, by decree of Emmanuel Macron, April 24 was officially proclaimed as the National Day of Remembrance of the Armenian Genocide in France.
