YEREVAN. – The members of Euronest Parliamentary Assembly’s Standing Commission on Social Issues, Education, Culture and Civil Society discussed two reports during their meeting in Yerevan.
Artak Zakaryan, MP from Armenia’s Republican Party, told the journalists that the delegates had discussed the issues related to development of civil societies and poverty reduction in the Eastern Partnership member states.
After summing up the offers on the first report, the finalized documents will be submitted to the Bureau. The second report on poverty rate reduction should be discussed in the future.
Zakaryan stressed that the Azerbaijani delegation also participated in the meeting.
Co-chair of the Commission Laima Luchia Andrikiene called the meeting effective praising high the debates. She said that the participants discussed the issues related to human rights, assistance to education and television.
Andrikiene pointed out heated discussion of raising women’s role in the society.
