The economic activity index in Armenia has increased by 7.1 percent in the first quarter of 2026, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Statistical Committee.
Accordingly, in the first quarter of this year, the industry of Armenia grew by 13.4 percent, construction by 22 percent, trade by 2.1 percent, the services sector by 7.4 percent, and foreign trade by 4.6 percent.
But agriculture recorded a decline by 5.2 percent.
During the aforementioned period, exports grew by 4.5 percent, and imports by 4.6 percent.
Also, 4.2 percent inflation was recorded.
Although according to the quarterly data, Armenia’s foreign trade recorded an increase, a decline of 6.8 percent was recorded in March. A decline was recorded in exports (12.6%) and imports (3.2%) as well in March
The economic activity index has been decreasing in Armenia since January. In January it was 7.6 percent, in January-February it was already 7.4 percent, and in January-March it was 7.1 percent.
