Strategic partnerships are being discussed with many countries. In a week, we will also see the signing of a long-negotiated document with France. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced during a meeting with heads of Armenian diplomatic missions accredited to countries and organizations in Europe, the foreign ministry of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Mirzoyan added as follows: “Before this, in recent months, of course, this has already happened with individual countries; for example, with Germany. Of course, the names differ slightly from document to document. In one case, it is the establishment of a strategic partnership, in another, it is a strategic agenda for partnership. For example, we signed a Strategic Partnership Agenda with the European Union and so on.”

Also, Mirzoyan reflected on the high-level events to be held in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, between May 4 and 6: the European Political Community and the Armenia-EU summits, as well as the Yerevan Dialogue forum.

During the ambassadorial meeting, the work on deepening the Armenia-EU partnership, bilateral cooperation with European countries, current programs and prospects were discussed.

In addition, Mirzoyan presented the course of implementation of regional connectivity programs with Armenia’s involvement, and the work being carried out with international partners to develop an economic and transport infrastructure network.

Reference was made also to the processes of normalizing and developing relations with Armenia’s neighbors, including steps towards institutionalizing the peace established with and Azerbaijan.

Views were exchanged on regional and international developments and current challenges, too.

The discussion touched also upon initiatives aimed at improving the diplomatic service of Armenia, including the respective proposed amendments to the country’s law on diplomatic service.
