YEREVAN.- To link the EU talks with the forthcoming elections is to speculate on the issue, said head of EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Traian Hristea.

The Union always underscores the necessity to hold elections at high level in the context of further development of relations with the EU, he said during a press conference dedicated to the launch of Armenia-EU talks. He stressed that both sides are interested in successful continuation of the talks.

Asked how the talks may influence the upcoming elections in Armenia, Deputy FM Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said that Armenia-EU relations are based on human values and the major goal is to build a democratic state, while election is a path to this.
