YEREVAN. – Monday is the third consecutive transaction day that the NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange did not see any foreign currency trading.

And this holds true in the case when the US dollar’s sale exchange rate against the Armenian dram (AMD) continues to drop. The dollar was offered at AMD 389/$1, at the stock exchange on Monday, as compared with the AMD 389.25/$1 on Friday, but still no trading was conducted. 

Also in the past week, the Central Bank of Armenia sold $2.45 million at the stock exchange, with an exchange rate of AMD 389.86/$1. And after this intervention, the banks are wary of buying dollar.

And Armenia’s exchange offices buy and sell the dollar at the AMD 387-390/$1 range, and without any substantial changes.
