YEREVAN. – A fairly active dialogue is underway between Armenia and EU, Deputy FM Zohrab Mnatsakanyan stated during the briefing devoted to the start of talks on relaxing visa requirements between Armenia and EU.  

In Mnatsakanyan’s words, the Armenia-EU relations and contacts are developing on a variety of levels. “The Armenian negotiating group is mobilized, [and] it works with different departments,” the Deputy FM noted. He also recalled that Armenia presently has twelve bilateral agreements with EU-member states. “Our experience enables us to believe that the negotiations will proceed successfully,” Zohrab Mnatsakanyan maintained.

And even though it is too early to determine which groups of society will benefit from the visa requirement mitigation agreement, Armenia’s Deputy FM assured that Armenia will exert all efforts to include as many groups as possible in this agreement. According to Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, it is also premature to speak about the dates for the completion of the ongoing negotiations, but “they will not continue for years [on end].”
