French Coordination Council of Armenian Organizations (CCAF) strongly condemns the decision on genocide bill made by the French Constitutional Council.

In a statement CCAF said that the decision was unfair and politically motivated. The organization said it expects decisive actions of the main French political forces, stressing that presidential candidates Nicolas Sarkozy and Francois Hollande repeatedly expressed their commitment to the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial.

“We must confirm independence and sovereignty of our political institutions,” the statement says.
