YEREVAN.- The draft bill on state of emergency has received positive international assessment, Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan said in the parliament on Wednesday.

The bill being debated in the National Assembly over last three days led to a backlash of opposition groups. They are particularly dissatisfied with the provision enabling the armed forces to engage under state of emergency.

“The issue has a legal and political context. If we talk about the first - whether the law conforms to international practice - we had a discussion with international experts and received a positive opinion. From the political viewpoint, it is important that the interpretation of the law proceeded from its content,” PM said.
