Official Tehran called the resolution adopted by UN atomic watchdog on condemning Iranian nuke program “theatrical and useless”. Yesterday, 25 out of 35 members of International Atomic Energy Agency’s board voted for the resolution, including UN permanent representatives.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that “issuing of the resolution is a theatrical move aimed as pressuring Iran,” Alalamnews reports. The source also quotes the Tehran’s cheif envoy to IAEA Ali Asghar Soltanieh, as saying, “The great nation of Iran will never bow to pressure and intimidation vis-a-vis its inalienable right to peaceful uses of nuclear energy.”

The document was drafted by six world powers — UK, China, France, Germany, Russia and the U.S. to be introduced to the IAEA board. The agency demanded that Iran freeze the project on uranium enrichment. It is the first document censuring Iran within last three years.
