YEREVAN. – The bread prices in Armenia are unchanged in February 2012, as compared with the previous month, National Statistical Service official Gurgen Martirosyan stated during a press conference on Tuesday.  

In January 2012, however, a 0.1-percent increase was recorded in the bread prices, but the flour prices grew more considerably.  

As per Martirosyan, high-quality flour prices increased by 0.3 percent in January, as compared with the previous month, whereas in February, it further grew by 4.4 percent. And according to the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition, those companies that are dominant in the country’s flour market have increased the flour prices by 9 percent, and stated that the reason for this was the increase in the international prices.     

And in line with official statistics, the prices of bakery products in Armenia grew by 0.6 percent in February 2012, as compared with the previous month.
