LYON. – French Decines city hall in Lyon, France, mobilized in support to an Armenian family, Lyon Info reports.

“We were shocked to hear that parents of Tatevik and Arman, both of who were born in France and attend public school La Berthaudiére in Decines, are under the threat of deportation,” First Assistant to Mayor Jean-Luc Martinez wrote in the open letter to the Prefect.

According to him, the family speaks French and participates in the community life of the city. Besides, the father of the family is promised to have a job of an auto-mechanic.

“We ask for them to be granted a residence permit and the children continued to attend the school together with their friends,” the mayoral letter reads.
