Marine biologists at the University of St. Andrews have concluded that each dolphin has an exclusive system of signal which it sends out when meeting other dolphins. And this signal is similar to a personal signature, or a name.

The marine biologists recorded the dolphins’ “cries,” with the help of loudspeakers, and found out that the dolphins used a special type of signal when meeting one another.    

The scientists assume that the dolphins use signals to distinguish the dolphin which is not among them, and they “speak” about that dolphin in the third person, Vesti writes.
