YEREVAN. – The Armenian environmentalists, who are demonstrating against the installation of kiosks at capital Yerevan’s Mashtots Park, on Monday announced they are starting a 24/7 sit-in at the Park.

“Our present demand is [the] deconstruction [of the kiosks]. We clearly presented this demand of ours to the municipal authorities, so they may carry out their duty. At this phase we are setting a term for them to reach a decision. But until then, we once again are showing—now, by way of a 24/7 sit-in—our will and resilience to become the masters of our rights. Our deadline is Friday, March 16. Until then, however, we will no longer leave the Park; we will be there 24 hours a day,” specifically reads the activists’ corresponding statement.
