YEREVAN. – Tuesday, March 13, 2012 marks the 115th birthday of the great Armenian poet, writer, and public activist Yeghishe Charents. And on that occasion, the lovers of Charents’ creations will walk toward his memorial, located in downtown Yerevan, where the opening of the Charents Year will be formally announced. 

Also on the same day, the exhibition of Yeghishe Charents portraits will open at the Charents House-Museum; singers and dance groups will perform, and the works of the great master will be recited.  

Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan, PM Tigran Sargsyan, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, and Culture Minister Hasmik Poghosyan will attend the events devoted to Yeghishe Charents’ 115th birth anniversary.
