YEREVAN. – Over the course of the four-day negotiations, “Armenia” International Airports Company met with all the requirements by the Government and the Armavia Airline Company, but Armavia withdrew from the talks, “Armenia” International Airports Company informed Armenian News-NEWS.am, and promised to provide details during Thursday’s press conference to be held at capital Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport.   

In her turn, Armenian General Department of Civil Aviation Press Secretary Nelly Cherchinyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that she will not comment on the statement released by the “Armenia” International Airports Company, since she was not present at Thursday’s talks. 

To note, the relations between Armavia Airline Company and “Armenia” International Airports Company worsened at the beginning of the month. On March 6, Armavia declared a strike, and thus it protested the Airport’s price policy.       

In its turn, “Armenia” International Airports Company stated that, according to the message received from Russia’s Rosnavigatsia Company, Armavia was prohibited to carry out flights toward Russia and to enter Russian air space because of its accumulated debts.

“Our company negatively assesses Armavia Airline Company’s inappropriate exploitation and [its] unfounded and false comments, and regrets that solely the national carrier has found itself in such situation,” the “Armenia” International Airports Company’s respective statement specifically read.

But as a result of emergency talks, Armavia’s flights to Russia were resumed on the very same day.
