The Armenian national carrier Armavia has repaid the debt of Rosaviatsiya, Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency, for December.

Armavia repaid $178,000 for air navigation service, head of Rosaviatsiya Alexander Neradko told the journalists.

According to Russian media, he said the Armenian company would have an opportunity to operate flights to Russia. He stressed that Armavia’s debt totals $354,000.

On March 6 Rosaviatsiya banned Armavia’s flights to Russia due to debts for air navigation service. On the same day Armavia sent a letter to Russian agency saying it would repay the debt.

On the same day the Armenian national carrier declared a strike protesting against price policy of Zvartnots airport. The airport’s leadership said the claims are groundless. Later Armavia resumed flights announcing it would continue talks with the airport.
