YEREVAN. – A total of 57.1 per cent of Armenian consumers are ready to make major purchases in the first quarter of 2012, says the report of Armenia’s Central Bank.

In general, the consumer confidence index increased by 3.5 per cent in the first quarter of 2012 as compared to the same period last year.

Consumer confidence means changing the arithmetic index on the basis of six questions given by consumers. It consists of two parts – one reflects the current situation (index of current conditions) and one related to the future status.
