Turkish actor Mujdat Gezen, who, prior to the 2011 parliamentary elections in Turkey, had implied that sixty percent of the Turkish people are stupid, is again at the focus of the Turkish society.  

The host of a program on Haberturk television reminded Mujdat Gezen that the latter, citing well-known Turkish writer Aziz Nesin, had called sixty percent of the Turkish people stupid. But in response, Gezen said: “I am not that stupid to call the Turkish people stupid. I make my money from them. How can I call them stupid?”   

To note, during a 2011 television program—in which partook Turkey’s Deputy PM, Minister of Sports, and fifteen members of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP)—Mujdat Gezen had recalled, in connection with AKP’s rating, Aziz Nesin’s words. “They say Justice and Development Party’s rating is at fifty percent, but, according to Aziz Nesin, it must be sixty percent,” Mujdat Gezen had stated.     

Aziz Nesin had said that sixty percent of the Turkish people are stupid.
