The plenary session of the 8th European Political Community Summit got underway Monday in Yerevan.

The event is being held at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex of the Armenian capital city.

The summit is attended by the first figures of European countries and heads of international organizations. In general, the European Political Community unites the leaders of about 50 countries.

The agenda of the event includes the expanding of cooperation in energy, transport, digital technology, and infrastructure ties. Particular attention will be paid to current global challenges, including the situation around Ukraine and the consequences of the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

At the end of the summit, it is planned to make a joint statement for the press, as well as hold a ceremony to cancel a postage stamp dedicated to the 8th European Political Community Summit.
