Our exported fruits and vegetables have a Global Gap certificate, which is one of the highest level certificates. Economy minister Gevorg Papoyan on Thursday stated this during the discussion of the annual report on the implementation of the 2025 state budget of Armenia at a joint meeting of country’s parliamentary standing committees.

The minister noted that it is about the products that are freely sold on the European market.

“But there are also other costs here; for example, transportation costs,” he added.

For instance, according to Papoyan, strawberries in Armenia are grown using exactly the same technologies, methods, and in the same greenhouses as in Europe. The only problem is the complicated logistics, which is due to many factors, and one of them is closed borders and long distances.
