The searches at Ararat Cement, Multi Wellness, Yerevan Ararat Brandy, Wine, Vodka Combine, Multi Stone companies, Olympavan. and the National Olympic Committee of Armenia have concluded. Opposition Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) chairman—and business tycoon—Gagik Tsarukyan’s spokesperson, Iveta Tonoyan, told this to reporters in front of Tsarukyan’s house Monday.

“I must announce with regret that the National Olympic Committee of Armenia has been sealed and its activities have been suspended. This is a disgrace at international level, because this is causing great damage to Armenia’s international standing. There has been no such precedent in the world. I am more than sure that the disastrous consequences of this action will be seen by the RA [i.e. the Republic of Armenia] authorities and those persons who have assumed responsibility for this entire process in a very short period of time.

The Ararat Cement Factory, the Yerevan Ararat Brandy, Wine, Vodka Factory, the administrative building nearby the factory, the high tower opposite the city hall, have also been sealed. The administrative building has also been sealed, where the offices and accounting of the Multi Group concern are located.

The Multi Stone company, which is engaged in the production of stones, has also been sealed and its activities have been suspended. Operations are still ongoing in Olympavan, but we have a problem there, because the US national wrestling team was training there, we have a UFC world champion who was training there, and serious problems have arisen in that regard.

Searches are continuing in Paravan, the Multi Grand Hotel.

In all of these companies; in particular, Ararat Cement Factory, Multi Stone, Multi Wellness, Yerevan Ararat Brandy, Wine, Vodka Factory, which were sealed by the Investigative Committee, all employees have been taken out, including security personnel, service personnel, which can cause serious security problems, because some of them are factories where there are explosive materials. Our lawyers are working on this issue so that we can start an appeal process so that we can at least ensure the security of these institutions.”

Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that a search was being conducted at Gagik Tsarukyan's house this morning.

Later, Iveta Tonoyan, the spokesperson for the PAP leader, reported that large-scale searches were being carried out also in virtually all companies included in the Multi Group concern, belonging to Tsarukyan’s family, as well as in the homes of the directors of these companies.

Separately, PAP member Arman Abovyan reported that Gagik Tsarukyan's house was surrounded by some kind of machine gunners in military uniforms. Later, Abovyan shared a new video from in front of Tsarukyan’s house, noting that drones were operating above. “According to some information, places belonging to or connected to Gagik Tsarukyan have also been searched. It’s about the Brandy Factory, Olympavan, and Multi Wellness company,” he had added.

In this regard, the Investigative Committee of Armenia had told Armenian News-NEWS.am as follows: “Necessary investigative and procedural actions are being carried out within the framework of a criminal proceeding, we will make an official statement later.”

A few days ago, the prosecutor's office had submitted a petition to the Central Electoral Commission to overcome Tsarukyan's immunity, which was never discussed.

During the parliamentary election campaign season, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had threatened to deprive his opponents of their property and to have them arrested. In particular, he was talking about Strong Armenia Alliance leader and businessman Samvel Karapetyan, ex-president and “Armenia” Alliance leader Robert Kocharyan, and Gagik Tsarukyan.
