The measure to provide state assistance to ensure sustainable production of fish farms in Ararat and Armavir Provinces of Armenia has been approved. The relevant decision was made at the Cabinet meeting of the government on Thursday.

As a result of this decision, 450 million drams were allocated for August. The amount was calculated based on the average amount of fish feed purchases as of 2025. A total of 135 businesses will receive this assistance.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed the government's readiness to assist Armenia’s businesses as much as possible, but categorically opposed such assistance that does not lead to development in all sectors.

Also, Pashinyan called for solving food quality issues in Armenia.

He added that if Armenia’s brandy producers want to enter the international market, then this drink should be produced in oak barrels.

“This is partially done in Armenia, but mainly it is produced in metal containers, in which oak boards are placed. Not to mention the quality of the product, how much it meets quality standards. Moreover, one should not generalize. There are producers who follow the standards, and there are those who do not follow,” the premier of Armenia concluded.
