Armenia does not plan to return to the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in the next five years and would be happy if it were expelled from the organization. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this while answering questions from MPs during the debates on the five-year program of the new Armenian government at Monday’s session of the National Assembly.

“I can say with confidence that we [i.e. Armenia] are not going to intensify our work in the CSTO,” Pashinyan added.

According to him, relevant discussions are underway in the CSTO. Moreover, the latter’s charter provides for the possibility of expelling a country from the organization.

“I would be very happy if the organization decides to expel the Republic of Armenia. In any case, they freed from the dilemma: to get out or not to get out of there?” the Armenian premier noted.
