We will be guided by natural processes, while considering the possible risks in the event of an increase in energy prices, governor Martin Galstyan of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) announced during a press conference Tuesday.

According to him, if energy prices in Armenia increase due to natural gas imports, it will have a double effect. Galstyan explained that this will lead to an increase in overall inflation in the country, as it will directly affect the cost of production.

"In addition, this can lead to a decline in economic activity [in Armenia]. This is an apocalyptic scenario, and our response should be tougher and non-standard," the CBA chief added.
