A court in Yerevan’s Nor Nork administrative district has extended the detention of Prosperous Armenia Party leader and businessman Gagik Tsarukyan by three months. The ruling was announced just moments ago.

Tsarukyan was arrested on July 7 on charges of large-scale fraud and money laundering. Later, new public criminal proceedings were initiated against him on charges of tax evasion.

On September 4, the court extended the detention of the Prosperous Armenia leader for two months.

Tsarukyan’s defense team maintains that there are no grounds for his detention.
