YEREVAN. – Information was received from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), on Wednesday at 3:25am, notifying that an accident had occurred on the Sochi-Yerevan motorway, and there were casualties and injuries.

Armenian News-NEWS.am learned about the abovementioned from the Armenian MES.

A Mercedes-model minibus had gone off road, for yet unknown reasons, and crashed into a GAZ 53-model truck that was parked on the side of the road.      

According to preliminary data, five of the fifteen Armenian citizens that were in the minibus—namely, P. P. (born in 2005), M. S. (born in 1985), L. Kh., and A. B. (born in 1971)—had died on the spot, whereas A. B. (born in 1985), A. V. (born in 2009), G. H. (born in 1990), N. S. (born in 1986), A. M. (born in 1995), F. B. (born in 2007), and A. B. (born in 1961) were taken to the Gulkeevich city hospital.

Doctors say the injured are in average critical condition.

Three other passengers in the minibus were temporarily accommodated at a Gulkeevich hotel.
