YEREVAN. – Armenian MP and businessman Samvel Aleksanyan thanked protesters who were staging actions against his Yerevan City supermarket chain for free advertising.
“We had to spend around 20 million drams on ads, now the sum will be allocated to the students,” he told reporters in parliament on Monday.
“It was not counteradvertising, it was advertising,” he emphasized.
Aleksanyan urged the reporters to name successful students to allocate the amount. He noted that the funding of students will continue if the protest actions are staged every month.
Members of “Let’s liberate monument from an oligarch” initiative held protests actions throughout October. They gathered in Mashtots Park and marched to the market where they called to boycott the supermarkets belonging to the family of oligarch Samvel Aleksanyan.
